According to the Jerusalem Post, the year 2020 is set to be the year of the chickpea! Chickpeas, or garbanzo beans, are a type of legume that are rich in protein and fiber. Chickpeas are favored not only in the Middle East, but also by vegetarians and vegans all over the world!

Chickpeas have been proven to have multiple health benefits. They can improve bone health due to the fact that they have a great source of iron and calcium in them. The consumption of chickpeas can also help prevent high blood pressure and support heart health. Additionally, research has supported that people who incorporate chickpeas in their regular diet were found to have a lower presence of low density protein (LPL), which is also known as “bad” cholesterol.
